With more than 30 years in the communications business, Don has created innovative programs for such companies as American Express, AXA Financial, Consumer Reports, Dreyfus, Gartner, IBM, and Reuters. In the 1990s, Don was an early adaptor to the Internet, leading him to become one of the first communications practitioners to understand the web’s long-range impact on public relations and corporate communications. With Professor Steve Ross of The Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, Don initiated "The Middleberg/Ross Media Survey," a groundbreaking annual study of the nation's print and broadcast media. Don’s book, Winning PR in the Wired World, was published by McGraw Hill in 2001 and remains required reading for communications majors at major universities and professionals at Fortune 500 companies. Don is also a “Senior Fellow” at the Society for New Communications Research, an organization that continues his groundbreaking research on journalism and digital communications.
This week's guest on the PRNewser Weekly Podcast is Marcy Cohen, senior manager of Corporate Communications at Sony Electronics Inc. In this position, she is currently responsible for managing Sony’s social networking strategies both internally for employees and externally for consumers. Cohen is also responsible for corporate public relations for Sony’s direct–to–consumer businesses including 42 Sony Style stores, Sonystyle.com and Sony Consumer Sales Company. She also manages media opportunities for executive management and oversees PR for Sony’s advertising campaigns. Cohen joined Sony’s Corporate Communications group in 2000 working on several initiatives including the launch of Sony’s QUALIA line of luxury products, the development of the company’s press web site and new Intranet site, and more recently the launch of Sony’s Take Back Recycling program in 2007. Prior to joining Sony, Cohen was marketing manager for Virtual Communities Inc., a community focused group of web sites. Prior to that she was senior account executive at Ketchum Public Relations in New York City where she managed accounts including Patek Philippe, LensCrafters and Johnson & Johnson. Cohen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Rutgers University. She is married with three children.

Don Levy is a Senior VP of communications for the division of Sony Pictures. Levy directs the corporate communications and public relations for Sony Pictures Animation and Sony Pictures Imageworks. From 2000-2007, Levy led the marketing and communications efforts of Sony Pictures Digital Ent. where he was involved in a range of new media business and start-ups, including Sony Online Ent, Sony Pictures Mobile, Sony Media Software, Soap City, Screenblast, Sony Pictures Digital networks and Movelink. Levy joined Sony Pictures Imageworks in 1996 during the groups founding stages. Since then, with Levy directing its communications efforts. Imageworks has gone on to become an award-winning visual effects and digital character animation company. In 2003, Levy oversaw the Academy Award campaign for Imageworks animated short film, The Chubbchubbs!, which garnered the groups first Oscar, and guided the company to win the 2005 Academy Award for Best Achievement in Visual Effects for its work on Spiderman 2.
